Greetings from Israel!
It’s our second day here and let me tell you, I am just barely sitting down at midnight trying to muster together the concentration needed to apply toward achieving my word count. My records indicate sucky progress:
I’m actually kind of embarrassed to admit it. I never found a cafe in Paris where I could escape to write. I had jet-lag. We hopped on another 5+ hour flight to Israel, got some more traveling fatigue, and here I am today. BUT! I am picking up the pace and trying to log more words. Today I can add 538 words next to 6/22. That’s better than nothing I suppose.
I’m also (struggling) to keep up with my reading. I’m reading Show Your Work by Austin Kleon. He’s the same dude that wrote Stealing Like an Artist.
As you can expect, I’m following his advice and “sharing” what I’m doing. I’m not an expert, but I am a person fumbling through the process with a love for the process, and I think I can relate to a lot of people because a) I have a day job, b) I have children, and c) I’m a really, really busy person. I can say that I’m more productive today than my days of being single with all the time in the world. It’s a frustrating thought, but I try to move forward and thank my lucky stars for the knowledge I have already, and continue to have an appetite for learning more.
So here I am. Moving forward. Sharing my process. Trying to reach my goals. Putting one foot in front of the other, taking tiny steps until I get to my destination.
