Many drops make a bucket, many buckets make a pond, many ponds make a lake, and many lakes make an ocean.
– Percy Ross
This is my current office.
It’s not the office I want, but it’s the office I need to have right now.
My desk and computer got moved out of the tiny, quieter office I have and put in the kitchen so I can hear the baby better. It can be loud. I hear my husband snoring, the hum of the fish aquarium, and it often distracts me when I can see the kids’ toys on the floor and start thinking about cleaning rather than writing.
Sometimes I have to write while pumping, in preparation for my return to work, so my pump sits where I usually have a pile of inspirational books.
I have to wake up so early my eyes are blurry and it takes coffee and time for the fog to clear, just to sit here at the desk that’s not quite what I want but what I need.
And yet somehow, some way, I am doing it. Slowly. One drop at a time.
